MOON-TECH® Users | FAQ about Washing and Care

Summer is finally here.
Every day the heat becomes more severe. We sweat more, and laundry frequency increases.

It is precisely because of this season that we want you to truly understand the overwhelming convenience of "MOON-TECH®" and enjoy it for a long time, comfortably and beautifully.

With that in mind, today we will provide information on washing and care.

"Should I use fabric softener?"
"Can I put it in the dryer?"
"How should I deal with odors and stains that don't come out with normal washing?"

Based on the many questions we have received from you, we have compiled the most frequently asked questions into an FAQ format.

・How can I prevent pilling and snagging?

Q. Should I use fabric softener?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A. We generally do not recommend using fabric softener for MOON-TECH®.

Fabric softener can inhibit the sweat-absorbing, quick-drying, deodorizing, and anti-stain properties of clothing by coating the surface of the fibers with its ingredients.
Although not widely known, this tendency applies not only to MOON-TECH® but also to functional sportswear and towels.

Furthermore, MOON-TECH® shrinks minimally after washing and does not become stiff with repeated washing, so it can generally be used comfortably without fabric softener.

Therefore, fabric softener is generally not needed for MOON-TECH®. However, if you must use fabric softener because you are washing it with other clothes, please use it sparingly.

\POINT/
To maximize functionality, do not use fabric softener. If you must use it, use it sparingly.

Q. Can I use a dryer?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A. To ensure long-lasting optimal condition, we recommend refraining from using a dryer.

MOON-TECH® boasts extremely high quick-drying properties, approximately twice the level of standard quick-drying materials. We have confirmed that the moisture content is reduced to about 10% after 5-10 minutes of spinning in standard mode. Many users have praised this surprising performance, saying that it's "half-dry after spinning."
After spinning, simply reshape and hang it on a hanger; it will be wrinkle-resistant, require no ironing, and dry in an astonishingly short time. (Using a dryer takes approximately three hours from washing to complete drying, but this method completes washing in a much shorter time.)
Therefore, we recommend air-drying without using a dryer.

However, we understand that there may be situations where you have no choice but to use a dryer due to other laundry. MOON-TECH® has been tested for dryer use in such scenarios, and we have confirmed that there are no significant issues with the product. So, please be assured of that.
Nevertheless, the high heat of a dryer inevitably puts a certain amount of stress on the fibers. Also, depending on specific conditions such as differences in washing machine drying performance or overloading, it can lead to some shrinkage or permanent wrinkles. Therefore, dryer use is not recommended, and we indicate "Do not tumble dry" on the care label. We appreciate your understanding in this regard.

\POINT/
To minimize shrinkage and stress on the fabric, avoid using a dryer. Instead, reshape and hang dry after spinning.

Q. Can I use bleach if I'm concerned about odors or stains?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A. For regular care, we recommend not using bleach routinely. If you are concerned about stains or odors, we recommend hand-washing the affected area by rubbing detergent into it. If you feel it's absolutely necessary to use bleach, please try oxygen bleach.
