"MOON-TECH®" Restock Notification / Our Current Status
We will be restocking the "MOON-TECH®" T-shirts, which had once again gone out of stock!
To all of you who have been waiting, thank you for your patience.
The popular [WHITE] has already been restocked, and [NAVY], which sold out immediately after being restocked last week, has also been restocked quickly thanks to the cooperation of our partner factory.
For those who missed out on purchasing, please take this opportunity to check them out.
As for [KHAKI, CHARCOAL, and BLACK], they are scheduled to be restocked as early as tomorrow, July 4th, or by Monday at the latest. For those who wish to purchase these colors, we kindly ask for your continued patience.
This year, we have had to inform you about stockouts and restocks multiple times, which may have surprised you. However, I believe your surprise fell into two main patterns.
Those who have continuously supported us expressed surprise at how quickly we restocked, while those who newly joined our supporters were surprised by how often items were out of stock so early in the season.
Today, to properly address both of these sentiments, I would like to report on the significant changes "MOONRAKERS" has undergone since last year and our current situation.
This will be a long read, but I hope you will bear with us.
This season, from March to June 2025, "MOONRAKERS" e-commerce sales have reached an astonishing level, more than five times that of last year.
We are deeply grateful for your truly passionate support and were simply amazed by the magnitude of this response.
In fact, at the start of this season, we had prepared inventory at three times last year's level, anticipating a rapid increase in demand.
We also had a fast production system in place in case of stockouts.
We had thoroughly considered and believed our inventory levels would not be easily depleted. We had also established a rapid production system through numerous discussions with Japan's proud manufacturing companies.
We thought that with all these measures, we would not run out of stock and could deliver products to those who needed them in a timely manner.
However, in reality, we received overwhelmingly greater support than we ever imagined—more than five times our projections. As a result, even for the "MOON-TECH®" T-shirts, which were in highest demand and for which we had made thorough preparations to avoid stockouts, frequent stockouts still occurred.
In fact, until last year, restocking took several months.
There was even a period of nearly six months when materials were scarce and we had almost no products.
As those who have supported "MOONRAKERS" from the beginning know, compared to that situation last year, this year we have been able to restock popular items within a month, showing significant improvement.
However, it is still not enough. This is because the situation where we cannot deliver products due to stockouts to our supportive customers is not ideal.
We need further evolution.
Towards "high-speed production" that goes beyond conventional wisdom: "Don't make unnecessary items; deliver needed products when they are needed."
From here, we will take on the challenge again.
In the traditional textile and fashion industry, it was believed that when there was excess inventory, the only options were to clear it out in a sale or to simply run out of stock.
The challenge we passionately began discussing with our manufacturing partners was ridiculed as "impossible" and we were laughed at as "fools chasing an unattainable dream."
But we had仲間 (nakama - comrades/friends).
We had all of you who supported our challenge.
From materials to sewing, the long process of manufacturing.
And all of you who use these products in your daily lives.
Many people are involved before a single product fulfills its purpose.
We want everyone involved to understand the current situation transparently and to work together to achieve what was once deemed impossible – the "untrodden path."
We want to see "unseen landscapes" with all of you.
